Scottish success on global stage

Belmont House, Unst, had already been crowned Scottish Project of the Year in the RICS Scotland Awards in May and has now been recognised on a global platform as Commended in the Building Conservation category at the RICS Awards global grand final 2011, held in London on Friday 21 October 2011.

The awards, hosted by TV presenter Julia Bradbury at The Savoy in London, saw over 350 entries from around the world competing in four categories: building conservation, regeneration, community benefit, and sustainability.

The overall winner of the building conservation category, the Town Hall Hotel & Apartments in Bethnal Green, London, went on to be named Project of the Year, demonstrating the level of competition for Belmont House.
