IHBC welcomes COTAC’s ‘green’ conference

The IHBC has welcomed the conference on ‘Improving Thermal Performance in Traditional Buildings’, scheduled for 15-16 November in Greenwich and organised by COTAC, the Conference on Training in Architectural Conservation.

IHBC Director Sean O’Reilly said: ‘This is a great opportunity for members of all built environment disciplines to review the current state of research, not least as it confirms the inherent ‘greenness’ of traditional construction.  It will also look at what – if anything – should be done to enhance the low-carbon credentials already inherent in pre-1919 buildings.’

Conference co-organiser Ingval Maxwell OBE said: ‘This two-day conference brings together some of the most knowledgeable researchers and practitioners in the field who will present the latest findings based on recent research projects across the UK and some valuable case studies.’
