The UK Association of Preservation Trusts (UK APT) 2011 conference, exploring the ‘Big Society’, will take place at the Crescent Arts Centre, Belfast on 13-14 October.
UKAPT says:
Big Society represents both a major challenge and an opportunity for Building Preservation Trusts. Funding and public sector cuts, together with the dismantling of intermediate tier organisations, threaten to leave BPTs with little of the support network they have been able to tap into in the past. On the other hand, sustainable, community-led projects and new sources of funding potentially offer new opportunities.
