Last year the Government announced that British Waterways will transfer to a New Waterways Charity (NWC) and the new Charity, whose name will be announced shortly and which will be up and running by April 2012, is now seeking 5 Waterways Partnership Chairs, with a closing date of 11 October.
Chairs are sought for in Manchester & Pennines, North Wales & Borders, South Wales & Severn, All Wales (Welsh waterways in North & South Wales) and Kennet & Avon.
Reporting to the Charity Trustees and Council, the postholders will be the lead ambassadors for their Waterways Partnership and shape the future of waterways in their area. The roles would involve 4 – 6 days per month for three years, with expenses paid.
