The Prince’s Regeneration Trust is pleased to announce that it has been successful in the first round of bidding for Government’s Regional Growth Fund, with a bid for the regeneration of Middleport Pottery in Stoke-on-Trent.
The Prince’s Regeneration Trust is in advanced negotiations with Burgess Dorling & Leigh Limited, part of The Denby Pottery Group, on a project which will ensure that the listed Victorian buildings continue to be used for the same industrial purpose for which they were built and the that traditional skills, still in use on this site, are preserved. If this project goes ahead, the jobs in the factory will be saved, and further jobs will be created. Further details will be announced when negotiations have concluded and contracts have been signed.
Ros Kerslake, Chief Executive, The Prince’s Regeneration Trust said: ‘We are delighted with this news, particularly since the bidding was extremely competitive. This is a really positive step forward in guaranteeing the future economic success of Middleport Pottery.’
