Organisations across England and Wales are encouraging members to lobby their MPs locally on all heritage matters, as IHBC Chair Jo Evans has already met with her MP, fortuitously Jeremy Hunt, the Secretary of State for Culture etc, to discuss her (and our) concerns over the condition and future of local conservation services.
In the spirit of the legislation, key organisations agree on the value of briefing their constituency MPs, especially if they are sitting on the Public Bill Committee, which is just now scrutinizing the Localism Bill, about key heritage views and concerns. A list of the committee members is below.
IHBC members are encouraged to meet with constituency MPs on this matter, and it is especially useful if you can follow the lead of our chair and provide briefings on our specific concerns. Links to briefings and submissions are available below.
