A High Court judge has revoked the town green status given to the Markham and Little Francis area in Weymouth in 2000. Landowner Betterment Properties is proposing a housing development on the 46-acre site also known as Curtis Fields.
Betterment Properties bought the site in 2004 and successfully challenged its registration by Dorset County Council, which was deemed to have applied the wrong Act of Parliament when it added the land to the register of town greens ten years ago.
