A project is calling for public input to provide records of maritime and harbour cranes throughout Europe, aiming to create a comprehensive online database.
The European Harbour Cranes Project writes:
Setting up a web-database on historic harbour cranes in Europe is one of EFAITH’s projects for the European Year of Cultural Heritage 2018. That means: developing a list of cranes used at maritime as well as inland harbours, and on canals and river banks.
May we ask you to send us photos and details on cranes that are existing in your neighborhood, or cranes you visited recently and of which you took photos
Below you will find some guidelines and a questionnaire which you can use.
Don’t hesitate to send us some photographs and information about the location of the cranes – even submissions that aren’t complete have their value, as they will fix the information on the topic.
