The Scottish Government (SG) commissioned an independent analysis of the responses to the ‘Places, People and Planning’ consultation by Kevin Murray Associates and the University of Dundee and has published an analysis of responses to the consultation, accompanied by a position statement on proposals it plans on taking forward
The SG writes:
The Scottish Government is consulting on elements to be taken forward in its Planning Bill which aims to strengthen planning’s contribution to inclusive growth and empowering communities. Measures the Scottish Government is exploring include the scope for mandatory training for elected members who are serving on a planning committee or Local Review Body, potentially supported with testing.
