HESPR top ‘two for one’ pick: Hall for Cornwall measured building survey (£25k) & East Lothian Research Framework (£58k)

The IHBC’s heritage business listing, HESPR – the Historic Environment Service Providers Recognition scheme – offers members weekly Bulletins that bring tender and other business opportunities together into one handy resource, while the Director’s top pick for NewsBlog readers this week features another ‘two for one’ pick from across the UK, with a call from Hall for Cornwall for a measured building survey (£25k) and from East Lothian for a research framework (£58k), closing 5 and 6 June respectively.

IHBC Chair James Caird said: ‘Our weekly Bulletin of current tender notifications to HESPR members is an innovative service that supports commercial conservation businesses that work to the IHBC’s standards and expectations.  These weekly selections offer the wider heritage world a regular insight into the conservation profession that we hope combine good news, sector profile and service inspiration all in one.’

Top tender pick of the week:

The IHBC Director’s top ‘two for one’ selection from the HESPR Bulletin for this week are summarised from the public notices for HESPR members as follows:

  • From Hall For Cornwall, for a measured survey of the Grade II building. The Hall For Cornwall Trust is preparing for a major renovation of the building including a new auditorium and new uses in some of the internal spaces. The building has been recently surveyed over an extended period of time. Unfortunately the survey was not completed in line with the specified requirements and a new survey is to been commissioned. It is important for the project that the 2D drawings are produced in line with standard architectural conventions and are carefully checked. The building is complex with a series of split levels across the 3 primary sections of the site.
  • Led by East Lothian, a call from South East Scotland Archaeology Partnership (SESAP) for a provider to develop a research framework for the region, to be known as the South East Scotland Archaeological Research Framework (SESARF). SESARF will link to the National Scottish Archaeological Research Framework (ScARF) and will provide a framework for archaeological research in South East Scotland which enhances our understanding of the past; promotes integrated management strategies for both cultural and natural heritage and increases the understanding of the public benefit of the historic environment.

Closing dates are 5 June and 6 June respectively.
