Cutbacks: England’s public sector consultation

The Spending Challenge is a large-scale public engagement asking for ideas on how the government can save money and deliver more for less. At this stage only frontline public sector workers are being asked for ideas – to be submitted before 9 July – but eventually everyone in the country will be able to have their say.

The press release says:
‘People who work on the frontline of the public sector and civil service are well placed to know how cuts should be made. They see what’s going on in their department and workplace, and know where there are opportunities to make savings and deliver the best public services for less. That is why public sector workers are being asked for their ideas first.’
