UK Landscape Award 2010 open

Entries for the European Landscape Convention (ELC) Council of Europe Landscape Award must be received by 27 August and the winner will be announced on 8 November.

The European Landscape Convention (ELC) is dedicated to the protection, management and planning of landscapes across Europe. It aims to encourage the integration of landscape into all relevant areas of policy, including cultural, economic and social policies. The ELC established its Council of Europe Landscape Award last year to recognise quality stewardship of landscapes; with member states running competitions to identify national winners, which are then put forward to the European Level competition. 2010 is the first year the Award will be run in the UK, and entrance is now open for applications.
