Yet heritage delivers substantial benefits at local level for real people and communities. It helps urban and rural areas to transform and delivers more effective, inclusive and sustainable forms of economic development and regeneration. It should not be underestimated. This is why the IHBC was produced an election statement, highlighting the public benefits that heritage provides and suggesting priorities for heritage for whichever party forms the next government.”
