Plans for the world’s first underground luxury five-star hotel at Hersham Golf Club in Surrey have been submitted by Claudel Venture Holdings, part of the international leisure company Arkin Group.
Claudel Venture Holdings, part of the international leisure company Arkin Group submitted its application to Elmbridge Borough Council on Friday April 9. The plans for a ‘unique and sustainable development’, designed by international hotel architects ReardonSmith, would see the construction of a 198 room hotel and spa with high quality restaurants and bars, business facilities, as well as improvements to the golf course and a brand new clubhouse, costing £72m.
