{"id":9979,"date":"2015-04-09T18:21:17","date_gmt":"2015-04-09T17:21:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=9979"},"modified":"2015-04-09T18:21:17","modified_gmt":"2015-04-09T17:21:17","slug":"call-for-nominations-europa-nostra-most-endangered","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=9979","title":{"rendered":"Call for nominations: Europa Nostra most endangered"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Europa Nostra have issued a call for submissions as part of their \u2018most endangered\u2019 heritage list, which aims to highlight the plight of key heritage assets and urge action on their condition.<\/span><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Europa Nostra writes:<br \/>\n<\/span>The 7 Most Endangered programme identifies endangered monuments and sites in Europe and mobilizes public and private partners on a local, national and European level to find a viable future for those sites.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The 7 Most Endangered\u2019 programme was launched in January 2013 by Europa Nostra with the European Investment Bank Institute as founding partner and the Council of Europe Development Bank as associated partner. It was inspired by a successful similar project run by the US National Trust for Historic Preservation. \u2018The 7 Most Endangered\u2019 is not a funding programme. Its aim is to serve as a catalyst for action and to promote \u2018the power of example\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Entries can be submitted by Europa Nostra\u2019s country representations, member and associate organisations as well as by established public and private bodies active in the heritage field located in countries where Europa Nostra is not yet represented.<\/p>\n<p>An international advisory panel, comprising specialists in history, archaeology, architecture, conservation and finance, meet to discuss over the applications and shortlist the most endangered monuments and sites. The final list of 7 sites is selected by the Board of Europa Nostra.<\/p>\n<p>Heritage and financial experts from Europa Nostra and the European Investment Bank Institute follow up and undertake \u2018rescue missions\u2019 to the 7 sites, together with the nominators.
