Historic Scotland\u2019s Bill Team has released its analysis of 2009 consultation on the Historic Environment (Amendment) (Scotland) Bill.<\/p>\n
It concludes that: \u2018The Consultation on the Bill generated a wide ranging and complex debate about heritage \u00a0protection legislation in Scotland and the Bill provisions. Although there was broad support for the \u00a0Bill as drafted a number of respondents made suggestions for minor amendment to some of the \u00a0provisions and others raised a number of issues that are not addressed in the Bill. The Bill Team has \u00a0consequently written to many people who responded to the consultation, to seek clarification of or \u00a0more information on points, or to request evidence of a need for certain provisions. We have also held \u00a0workshops and meetings with individual bodies to discuss particular issues. The consultation responses \u00a0and the follow-up work will be used to inform Ministers\u2019 consideration of the final shape of the Bill.\u2019<\/p>\n
