Following personnel changes at Historic Scotland acting CEO Ruth Parsons takes Policy while Investment and Projects go to the office of the Chief Inspector, Malcolm Cooper.<\/p>\n
In a letter to stakeholders she announced \u2018some changes affecting the work covered by Policy Group\u2019.<\/p>\n
She says: \u2018After many years of dedicated service to Historic Scotland and its predecessors, \u00a0most recently as Head of the Policy Team, Dr Gordon Barclay has decided to take early retirement at the end of this month…. Gordon has recently been making a particularly significant input to the Agency\u2019s work on the Historic Environment (Amendment) Bill, the first major legislation \u00a0in our area since devolution. \u00a0The Bill is due for introduction early next year. \u00a0To provide continuity in this critical area of work for the Agency, Lucy Blackburn, currently Director of Policy, will move to focus entirely on the Bill, which she will lead as a cross-agency project. Lucy remains a member of SMT, but is taking the opportunity to reduce her hours.<\/p>\n
The Policy Team, plus Karen Robertson, Research Manager, will move to form a new Policy Unit working directly to the Chief Executive. \u00a0The Unit will be headed for the time being by Laura Bailie, on temporary promotion to Band F.<\/p>\n
The Investment and Projects Team, which forms the other part of Policy Group, will move to be line managed by Malcolm Cooper, Chief Inspector.<\/p>\n
These changes will take immediate effect. Contact details for all staff involved remain unchanged.\u2019<\/p>\n
