{"id":9034,"date":"2014-11-28T16:36:23","date_gmt":"2014-11-28T16:36:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=9034"},"modified":"2014-11-28T16:36:23","modified_gmt":"2014-11-28T16:36:23","slug":"sustainable-development-marine-planning-consultation-mmo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=9034","title":{"rendered":"Sustainable development &#038; marine planning consultation -MMO"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Marine Management Organisation (MMO) has started consultation on the draft Sustainability Appraisal Scoping Report for the South Inshore and South Offshore Marine Plans, with the consultation closing on Friday 2nd January 2015<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>This is the first stage in the Sustainability Appraisal (SA) process, where the South marine plans are independently assessed to understand how they will help deliver sustainable development.<\/p>\n<p>The report looks at sustainability issues such as communities, health and wellbeing, marine ecology and cultural heritage.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The MMO writes<\/span>:<br \/>\nRunning for five weeks, this is the first stage in the Sustainability Appraisal (SA) process, where the South marine plans are independently assessed to understand how they will help deliver sustainable development.<\/p>\n<p>The scoping report looks at sustainability issues such as communities, health and wellbeing, marine ecology and cultural heritage.<\/p>\n<p>MMO\u2019s Sustainability Manager, Chris Maxwell, said: \u2018This is a really important first step in understanding how marine planning in the South will help deliver sustainable development.
