{"id":8957,"date":"2014-11-14T16:55:17","date_gmt":"2014-11-14T16:55:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=8957"},"modified":"2014-11-14T16:55:17","modified_gmt":"2014-11-14T16:55:17","slug":"labours-lyons-housing-review-available","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=8957","title":{"rendered":"Labour&#8217;s Lyons Housing Review available"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The independent report into housing needs commissioned by the Labour Party (undertaken by Sir Michael Lyons) is now available, and it makes a series of wide ranging recommendations on powers for planning and the provision of new towns<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">\u2018Your Britain\u2019 (Labour&#8217;s online policy hub) writes<\/span>:<br \/>\nThe report recommends measures to tighten the responsibility on councils to increase the supply of land through local plans and give them greater tools to ensure that new homes are built. It proposes changes to simplify and speed up the planning process, including \u2018redline\u2019 applications for small sites.
