{"id":8020,"date":"2014-07-11T18:13:33","date_gmt":"2014-07-11T17:13:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=8020"},"modified":"2014-07-11T18:13:33","modified_gmt":"2014-07-11T17:13:33","slug":"welsh-environment-minister-dismissed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=8020","title":{"rendered":"Welsh Environment Minister dismissed"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Welsh First Minister Carwyn Jones has fired his Environment Minister Alun Davies and will not appoint a successor<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>Davies was dismissed for putting pressure on civil servants for private information about opposition Assembly Members.<\/p>\n<p>He was already under scrutiny over his handling of proposals for a racing circuit in his Blaenau Gwent constituency.<\/p>\n<p>His portfolio has now been divided between three other ministers, and there are no plans to appoint another dedicated minister to his former role.<\/p>\n<p>Economy and Transport Minister Edwina Hart will look after agriculture, fisheries and food, Sport and Culture Minister John Griffiths has had environment added to his portfolio; and Rebecca Evans is promoted from the backbenches to become deputy minister for agriculture and fisheries.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.planningportal.gov.uk\/general\/news\/stories\/2014\/july14\/090714\/090714_6\" target=\"_blank\">Search Planning Portal<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welsh First Minister Carwyn Jones has fired his Environment Minister Alun Davies and will not appoint a successor.
