{"id":8016,"date":"2014-07-11T18:09:28","date_gmt":"2014-07-11T17:09:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=8016"},"modified":"2014-07-13T17:55:00","modified_gmt":"2014-07-13T16:55:00","slug":"opportunities-for-day-in-the-life-for-civil-service-3rd-sector","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=8016","title":{"rendered":"Opportunities for &#8216;day in the life&#8217; for civil service &#038; 3rd sector"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO) is organising opportunities for those who work in third sector organisations to team up with civil service workers and experience a \u2018day in the life\u2019 of someone in a related position in a different sector, with interested parties to make an application by 1 August 2014<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">NCVO writes<\/span>:<br \/>\nThe aim of &#8216;A Day in the Life&#8217; is to improve cross-sector understanding of the roles and responsibilities of staff within the public and voluntary sectors, as well as the operational environments and wider contexts in which they work. By opening up dialogue between staff, this in turn will encourage improved relationships and policy-making.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants are paired up with a suitable person from the opposite sector. At a convenient time between September 2014 and January 2015, both spend up to a day in each other\u2019s organisations. There they have the opportunity to find out more about each other\u2019s work ranging from the day to day responsibilities through to the wider contexts in which they operate and the challenges they face.
