{"id":7944,"date":"2014-06-27T18:17:19","date_gmt":"2014-06-27T17:17:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=7944"},"modified":"2014-06-27T18:47:58","modified_gmt":"2014-06-27T17:47:58","slug":"ihbc-launches-client-friendly-online-listing-of-conservation-accredited-members","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=7944","title":{"rendered":"IHBC launches client-friendly online listing of conservation accredited Members"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Online-Members-DB.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-7947 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/06\/Online-Members-DB.jpg\" alt=\"Online Members DB\" width=\"1023\" height=\"559\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC) has launched its client-friendly online searchable database of those Full Members, accredited in conservation, who have agreed to have details posted online.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>IHBC President Trefor Thorpe said: &#8216;I very much welcome this latest positive step by the institute to make accredited practitioner information available to all <em>via<\/em> the internet. \u00a0In this way we are achieving rightful parity with the accreditation schemes of other professions.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We do also anticipate substantial updates and expansion of the listing in the coming weeks as more Full Members agree to having their credentials in conservation being advertised this fashion.\u00a0 So if you are accredited with the IHBC and want to be represented here, please do let us know and we\u2019ll update the listing as soon as we can.&#8217;<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>IHBC Director Se\u00e1n O\u2019Reilly said: \u2018This new service is a tool that will make it easier for prospective clients to find and engage those conservation specialists best qualified to do the work they need done.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Of course not all listed here undertake such private work, and the database is also a select and publicly accessible indicator of the extraordinarily deep and diverse skills sets available across the IHBC\u2019s membership.\u00a0 If anyone has any doubts about the extent to which the IHBC captures the depth and breadth of the built and historic environment historic environment sector, they need only look here to have those concerns allayed.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Even then, at nearly 200 members, this listing still represents only about 15% of the IHBC\u2019s accredited membership.\u00a0 We expect lots more of our members to want to join this online listing as it gains currency.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Also, as we extend our accreditation to Associate Members in the coming months, we\u2019ll add that more specialist accreditation into this resource, but for now it is for Full Members only, as these have been tested against our membership criteria and standards.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>For the website please follow the links (Find an IHBC Member) from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ihbc.org.uk\" target=\"_blank\">IHBC\u2019s home page<\/a> or click <a href=\"http:\/\/ihbc.org.uk\/memb_cont\/members.html\" target=\"_blank\">HERE<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; The Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC) has launched its client-friendly online searchable database of those Full Members, accredited in conservation, who have agreed to have details posted online.
