Nominations are  currently being sought for two awards of \u00a31,000 each, in this the fourth  year of this award scheme, generously sponsored by the Marsh Christian  Trust <a title=\"http:\/\/www.marshchristiantrust.org\" href=\"http:\/\/www.marshchristiantrust.org\/\">www.marshchristiantrust.org<\/a> .<\/p>\n<p>Previous winners of this award are the late Professor John  Ashurst (2006); Ray Stevens, The National Trust (2007); Bob Turner,  Fisher Decoration Limited (2008) and the first winner in 2008 of the new  category of a built heritage sector trainer was George Terry, Highbury  College, Portsmouth.<\/p>\n<p>For 2009, both categories are again  available and we seek submissions for:<\/p>\n<p>One award celebrating the  achievements of an individual craftsperson who demonstrates the highest  possible practical skills and standards in any traditional building  craft skill occupation<br \/>\nOne award for an individual trainer, who has  demonstrated outstanding work within the built heritage sector in  passing on knowledge and understanding to help develop other peoples\u2019  traditional building craft skills.<\/p>\n<p>1. Criteria for the Award<br \/>\nEligibility:  The two awards are open to craftspeople and trainers working in any of  the four UK home countries.<\/p>\n<p>Craftsperson: Submission of a CV and  photographic evidence of 3-4 pieces of work over the past 2-3 years on  specific heritage or conservation related projects that are highly  skilled, challenging, unique or acknowledged as being above the normal  standard of a contract. \u00a0A brief statement of support from an employer,  client, architect, or building surveyor citing the person\u2019s abilities is  also required.<\/p>\n<p>Trainer: Submission of evidence of consistently  high quality delivery of training in the built heritage  skills\/conservation field to develop the skills and abilities of  craftspeople.
