As a key element of  the Government\u2019s empowerment agenda, asset transfer is about enabling  local people to take a lead in improving local neighbourhoods and  services.<\/p>\n<p>Advancing Assets and the Community Asset Programme  have supported the transfer of property assets to great projects from  across the country. Forward thinking local authorities are working with  dynamic third sector organisations to make a real difference to services  and communities. Through this conference we want to identify how we  build these effective relationships and how we demonstrate the value of  asset transfer clearly and objectively.<\/p>\n<p>To take place at:<\/p>\n<p>London  &#8211; 10th November 2009 at the HAC [Honourable Artillery Company] \u00a0or<\/p>\n<p>Sheffield  &#8211; 17th November 2009 at the Cutlers Hall Sheffield<\/p>\n<p>Explore:<\/p>\n<p>what makes a good partnership between a  local authority and a third sector organisation;<\/p>\n<p>the best  ways to measure and demonstrate the success of community asset transfer<br \/>\nfuture  challenges for asset transfer.<\/p>\n<p>The highly participative  conference will be a great opportunity to network, share good practice  and learn from each other what has and has not worked.
