{"id":7355,"date":"2014-03-21T17:42:56","date_gmt":"2014-03-21T17:42:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=7355"},"modified":"2014-03-21T17:42:56","modified_gmt":"2014-03-21T17:42:56","slug":"welsh-permitted-development-shake-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=7355","title":{"rendered":"Welsh permitted development shake-up&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Welsh Chief Planner Rosemary Thomas has written to Welsh local planning authorities highlighting a raft of changes to the permitted development regime which will come into force on 28 April<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>New permitted development rights for industry, businesses, educational institutions and hospitals in Wales will kick in then.<\/p>\n<p>The Town and Country (General Permitted Development) (Amendment) (Wales) Order 2014 will amend Parts 8 and 32 of the General Permitted Development Order and introduce new Parts 41 and 42.<\/p>\n<p>It will:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 provide more flexible permitted development rights (PDRs) for industrial and warehouse premises, schools, colleges, universities and hospitals<br \/>\n\u2022 provide new permitted development rights for offices, shops, financial and professional services<br \/>\n\u2022 require the use of porous or permeable materials for hard standings associated with industrial and warehouse development<br \/>\n\u2022 provide PDRs for cycle and refuse stores<br \/>\n\u2022 provide greater protection for World Heritage Sites for the classes of development in the Amendment Order.<\/p>\n<p>The Compensation Regulations are amended and consolidated by The Town and Country Planning (Compensation) (Wales) Regulations 2014 to take account of the new PDRs.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.planningportal.gov.uk\/general\/news\/stories\/2014\/march14\/200314\/200314_6\" target=\"_blank\">Search Planning Portal<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welsh Chief Planner Rosemary Thomas has written to Welsh local planning authorities highlighting a raft of changes to the permitted development regime which will come into force on 28 April.
