{"id":7088,"date":"2014-01-24T19:04:23","date_gmt":"2014-01-24T19:04:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=7088"},"modified":"2014-01-24T19:04:23","modified_gmt":"2014-01-24T19:04:23","slug":"englands-manifesto-for-key-cities-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=7088","title":{"rendered":"England\u2019s \u2018Manifesto for Key Cities\u2019 launched"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">England\u2019s smaller cities have called for less emphasis on boosting high streets and more help in creating non-retail jobs in a report just launched.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Localgov writes:<br \/>\n<\/span>The key cities group in its Manifesto for Growth launched on January 22 says their future success \u2018is about far more than retail and indeed the opposite is true; the fortunes of the high street are dependent on the fortunes of the wider city centre in which they are based.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The group, with 22 member cities, says too many businesses have moved to out of town locations leaving city centres more reliant on retail.
