{"id":7078,"date":"2014-01-24T18:58:33","date_gmt":"2014-01-24T18:58:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=7078"},"modified":"2014-01-24T18:58:33","modified_gmt":"2014-01-24T18:58:33","slug":"legal-general-looks-to-invest-pension-funds-in-new-towns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=7078","title":{"rendered":"Legal &#038; General looks to invest pension funds in new towns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Insurance group Legal &amp; General has revealed it wants to build up to five new towns across Britain over the next 10 years at a cost of up to \u00a35bn, according to its chief executive.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>L&amp;G\u2019s Nigel Wilson told the Sunday Times that building new towns and regenerating inner cities was the best way of addressing Britain&#8217;s housing crisis, and would also meet L&amp;G&#8217;s aim of investing more of its pension fund in infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018If we can bring communities with us and agree planning, we&#8217;d like to help build several new towns across the country.
