{"id":7054,"date":"2014-01-17T19:08:06","date_gmt":"2014-01-17T19:08:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=7054"},"modified":"2014-01-17T19:08:06","modified_gmt":"2014-01-17T19:08:06","slug":"nt-asks-is-localism-at-risk-is-the-nppf-delivering-planning-for-people","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=7054","title":{"rendered":"NT asks \u2018Is Localism at Risk: Is the NPPF delivering planning for people?\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">A new report from the Local Government Information Unit (LGiU) think tank, in association with the National Trust (NT), considers whether the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) is delivering planning solutions that reflect the needs and concerns of local communities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The LGiU writes:<\/span><br \/>\nThe LGIU The LGiU surveyed senior local government politicians and officials in 94 Local Planning Authorities and found that\u00a060 per cent of respondents disagree or strongly disagree that the introduction of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) has had a positive impact on their ability to deliver a Local Plan that reflects local needs and priorities.<\/p>\n<p>Respondents expressed concern that the Planning Inspectorate, through the examination process, is prioritising development over the views of local people. \u00a0The research found that housing land availability was the most common reason for Local Plans being rejected.
