The London Borough of Camden has launched a new website to gather residents views on proposals to introduce new planning rules in the area. \u00a0The council is proposing to remove permitted development rights in the Belsize, Hampstead and Swiss Cottage conservation areas.<\/p>\n
Camden Council says:
\n“A new online forum brings Camden Council\u2019s plans to safeguard at risk heritage areas straight to residents and local groups at the touch of a button.<\/p>\n
Conserving Camden is a virtual one-stop shop where residents can find out more about the Council\u2019s consultations on special planning measures to protect the Belsize, Hampstead and Swiss Cottage conservation areas. The site will also soon feature short films of residents talking about their area, why it is important to them and what they think of the proposals along with clips from English Heritage.<\/p>\n
Camden Council\u2019s Executive Member for Planning Cllr Andrew Marshall said: “Conserving Camden is a great way to engage local people and connect with new audiences who want to get their information in this quick and easy way. It\u2019s vital we do everything we can to preserve the wealth of architectural detail in our conservation areas before it\u2019s lost forever. We want as many local people as possible involved to protect our conservation areas and make them a source of local pride now and in generations to come.”<\/p>\n
