The National Heritage Training Group (NHTG) has welcomed the launch of an update on its existing suite of skills research reports published as part of England\u2019s Heritage Counts initiative and covering both England and Scotland.<\/span><\/p>\n

Entitled \u2018Skills Needs Analysis 2013 Repair, Maintenance and Energy Ef?ciency Retro?t of Traditional (pre-1919) Buildings in England and Scotland\u2019, the report was carried out for English Heritage, Historic Scotland and CITB.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Karen Houghton, NHTG\u2019s CEO, said: \u2018NHTG welcomes this valuable piece of research. We’re already acting on some of the recommendations and actions, and using the document in our strategic planning to decide how best to support industry. It’s clear that there’s a significant need for high-quality training for people working on traditional buildings, and we’re doing everything we can to ensure this training is readily available to contractors and individuals.\u2019<\/p>\n
