{"id":6681,"date":"2013-11-01T17:33:43","date_gmt":"2013-11-01T17:33:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=6681"},"modified":"2013-11-01T17:33:43","modified_gmt":"2013-11-01T17:33:43","slug":"welsh-natural-environment-white-paper-launched","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=6681","title":{"rendered":"Welsh natural environment white paper launched"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Proposals for integrating the management of natural resources in Wales, including new duties for local planning authorities, have been announced by the Welsh government, with a closing date of 15 January 2014.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Welsh Government writes:<br \/>\n<\/span>This consultation sets out proposals to ensure that we have the right legislative framework in Wales to manage our natural resources in a joined-up way.<b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p>This White Paper sets out proposals for the Environment (Wales) Bill. This Bill will ensure that we have the right legislative framework to manage our natural resources in a joined-up way, as committed in the Programme for Government. This includes proposals for a new area-based planning approach to natural resource management. This is intended to complement existing and proposed planning and sustainable development laws to deliver economic, social and environmental benefits for Wales.<\/p>\n<p>We held a consultation in 2012 on the \u2018Sustaining a Living Wales Green Paper\u2019 which showed broad support for a fresh approach to the planning and management of natural resources in Wales.
