{"id":6679,"date":"2013-11-01T17:29:00","date_gmt":"2013-11-01T17:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=6679"},"modified":"2013-11-01T17:29:00","modified_gmt":"2013-11-01T17:29:00","slug":"basement-wars-in-westminster","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=6679","title":{"rendered":"Basement wars in Westminster"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Huge basement extensions could be refused under a new planning policy now under consultation by Westminster City Council.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Basements extensions of more than one storey and over 50 per cent of a property\u2019s garden size will be recommended for planning refusal under these changes.<\/p>\n<p>Westminster has seen a three-year boom in applications for basement extensions.<\/p>\n<p>Particular problem areas are Belgravia, Knightsbridge, Marylebone, Mayfair and St John\u2019s Wood.
