{"id":6370,"date":"2013-08-30T15:59:37","date_gmt":"2013-08-30T14:59:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=6370"},"modified":"2013-08-30T15:59:37","modified_gmt":"2013-08-30T14:59:37","slug":"100m-funding-available-to-invest-in-green-retrofit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=6370","title":{"rendered":"\u00a3100m funding available to invest in \u2018Green Retrofit\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">BRE along with partners Sustainable Development Capital Ltd have launched a new scheme to provide capital investment for non-domestic energy efficiency retrofit projects in the UK.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">BRE writes:<br \/>\n<\/span>The new\u00a0<i>Green Retrofit Investment Programme<\/i>\u00a0has up to \u00a3100 million available for investment in building retrofit projects and energy infrastructure projects where clear energy and carbon emissions savings will result. \u00a350m of the fund has come from the Government\u2019s Green Investment Bank.<\/p>\n<p>The scheme will support projects that deliver reduction in energy demand, cost and greenhouse gas emissions for four areas:<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Building retrofits<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Renewable heat<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Combined heat and power (CHP)<br \/>\n\u00b7\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0Urban infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking at the fund launch, Rufus Logan, Director of BRE Scotland said that BRE\u2019s role would be to provide strategic and technical support: \u2018We will provide the hard evidence to help in assessing the risks, delivering performance and ensuring that projects get the recognition they deserve, through standards like BREEAM.\u2019Jonathan Maxwell, founding partner and chief executive of SDCL said, \u2018As a fund we have significant capital to invest in the UK. If you have a project that is ready, we would be happy to look at how we can help.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The fund is open to projects of \u00a32 million plus and provides backing for up to 100% of project cost. The return on investment will come from a proportion of the savings in energy bills.
