{"id":6250,"date":"2013-08-02T17:58:35","date_gmt":"2013-08-02T16:58:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=6250"},"modified":"2013-08-02T17:58:35","modified_gmt":"2013-08-02T16:58:35","slug":"ihbcs-conservation-conversations-go-global-see-our-home-page","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=6250","title":{"rendered":"IHBC\u2019s conservation conversations go global: See our Home Page"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Institute of Historic Building Conservation (IHBC), the UK\u2019s professional body for built and historic environment conservation, has kick-started its \u2018global conservation\u2019 news service by offering to post links and headlines to conservation-related news features from across the world<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">IHBC President Trefor Thorpe welcomed the initiative saying<\/span>:<br \/>\n\u2018The big stories from around the world can only empower us to take note, reconsider and do better in our own sphere of activity.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The IHBC, as ever, is taking a positive lead in making this possible through our own new global news service. You&#8217;re never too old, experienced or important to learn something new or be encouraged to think again about things you thought you understood!\u2019<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">IHBC\u2019s Communications Secretary Charles Strang said<\/span>:<br \/>\n\u2018I&#8217;m delighted that the IHBC has once more demonstrated its desire to \u2018Think Global; Act Local\u2019, seeking to learn from those involved in Building Conservation around the world, while also sharing our own thoughts and those of our Members on the policies and practices which we are pursuing nearer to home.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018In terms of sustainable development and global warming we are absolutely justified in believing that \u2018we&#8217;re all in this together\u2019, and must work together for mutual benefit: &#8216;global news&#8217; is an important step forward to that end.\u2019<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">IHBC Director Se\u00e1n O\u2019Reilly said<\/span>:<br \/>\n\u2018To check out this\u00a0important new development, simply follow the \u2018Global\u2019 links on our Home page.
