{"id":6228,"date":"2013-08-02T17:14:46","date_gmt":"2013-08-02T16:14:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=6228"},"modified":"2013-08-02T17:14:46","modified_gmt":"2013-08-02T16:14:46","slug":"tha-giving-to-heritage-project-makes-it-work-for-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=6228","title":{"rendered":"THA: \u2018Giving to heritage\u2019 project makes it work for you!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Heritage Alliance (THA), the largest coalition of heritage interests in England, is currently developing a \u00a3500,000 HLF-funded fundraising programme for the independent heritage sector: Giving to Heritage and is asking people to contribute to its survey which closes on 30 August<\/span>.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">THA writes<br \/>\n<\/span>This is a once in a generation opportunity to equip heritage and community enthusiasts with the skills and know-how needed to improve our fundraising capability and diversify our incomes for a more secure future.<\/p>\n<p>Now is a crucial time to help shape this programme, to make sure it delivers what we need in the way we want. To do that we need to know what you think and what your members think. We want as many views as possible from organisations large and small working across the range of heritage interests to inform what we do. To capture that information we&#8217;ve put together a straightforward 5 minute survey, which you can access immediately by clicking on the link below:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.surveymonkey.com\/s\/GivingToHeritage\" target=\"_blank\">LINK<\/a><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Please fill it in. Please promote it to your membership, through your networks, to colleagues and friends. Please help us to make the most of this fantastic opportunity. The survey will close on the 30th August.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">THA\u2019s \u2018Giving to Heritage\u2019 background<\/span>:<br \/>\nThe project has been developed by The Heritage Alliance, in partnership with the Institute of Fundraising , in response to the Department for Culture, Media and Sport\u2019s 10 Point Philanthropy Plan. It has successfully secured first round funding under the Heritage Lottery Fund\u2019s Catalyst programme. It is now in development phase, working to submit a second round submission to the HLF by the 30th September.<\/p>\n<p>Giving to Heritage intends to deliver over 8,500 training opportunities to heritage enthusiasts working with:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u00b7 The Historic Environment,<br \/>\n\u00b7 Museums Libraries and Archives,<br \/>\n\u00b7 Historic Landscapes,<br \/>\n\u00b7 Industrial, Transport and Maritime and<br \/>\n\u00b7 Intangible Heritage such as oral histories.<\/p>\n<p>The training will be rolled out regionally, over 2014-15, by the Institute of Fundraising \u2019s network of professional trainers supported by heritage experts.
