{"id":6150,"date":"2013-07-19T16:40:12","date_gmt":"2013-07-19T15:40:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=6150"},"modified":"2013-07-19T16:40:12","modified_gmt":"2013-07-19T15:40:12","slug":"southbank-undercroft-gets-localism-act-listing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=6150","title":{"rendered":"Southbank undercroft gets Localism Act listing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Lambeth Council has agreed to the listing of the Undercroft, the iconic skateboarding area on London\u2019s Southbank, as an Asset of Community Value (ACV)<\/span>.<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Skateboards and graffiti artists are campaigning to safeguard the area earmarked for redevelopment as part of major plans to redevelop the Southbank complex. As well as getting the area listed as an ACV, the campaigners are hoping to have the Undercroft registered as a town green.<\/p>\n<p>The Southbank Centre is considering whether to challenge the ACV listing. In a statement it said: \u2018We have always recognised the importance of skateboarding at Southbank Centre, as recognised by our plan to provide an alternative, permanent space 120 meters away that has also been used for skating.
