{"id":5956,"date":"2013-06-07T17:59:40","date_gmt":"2013-06-07T17:59:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=5956"},"modified":"2013-06-07T17:59:40","modified_gmt":"2013-06-07T17:59:40","slug":"amendments-to-design-access-for-englands-designated-heritage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=5956","title":{"rendered":"Amendments to \u2018design &#038; access\u2019 for England\u2019s designated heritage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">As part of a wider &#8216;streamlining&#8217; strategy, a new amendment to heritage legislation removes the requirement for design and access statements to explain the principles and concepts that have been applied to the scale, layout, and appearance of the works to be carried out, and also removes the requirement for a design and access statement to explain how features which ensure access to the building will be maintained<\/span><span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">\u00a0.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Government writes<\/span>:<br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size: 16px;\">The Planning (Listed Buildings and Conservation Areas) Regulations 1990 (\u2018the 1990 Regulations\u2019) specify procedures connected with applications for listed building and conservation area consent in England.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Regulation 2 amends regulation 3A of the 1990 Regulations. Regulation 3A sets out the content which is required for design and access statements which accompany applications made under the 1990 Regulations.<\/p>\n<p>The amendment removes the requirement for design and access statements to explain the principles and concepts that have been applied to the scale, layout, and appearance of the works to be carried out. The amendment also removes the requirement for a design and access statement to explain how features which ensure access to the building will be maintained.
