{"id":5759,"date":"2013-05-03T16:51:07","date_gmt":"2013-05-03T16:51:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=5759"},"modified":"2013-05-03T16:51:07","modified_gmt":"2013-05-03T16:51:07","slug":"scottish-planning-revamp-leads-spp-and-spf-consultation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=5759","title":{"rendered":"Scottish planning revamp leads SPP and SPF consultation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Scotland\u2019s planning system will place more emphasis on jobs and economic benefits to help deliver sustainable economic growth, Planning Minister Derek Mackay has announced as the administration published two key documents for consultation: the third National Planning Framework (NPF3) and draft Scottish Planning Policy (SPP).<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The third National Planning Framework (NPF3) and draft Scottish Planning Policy (SPP) will influence development plans across Scotland and guide future planning decisions on a range of sectors including transport, energy and infrastructure.<\/p>\n<p>The NPF3 proposals set out ministers\u2019 priorities for where important development should take place, identifying new, large-scale national developments including:<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 two carbon capture and storage schemes at Peterhead and Grangemouth<\/p>\n<p>\u00b7 Prestwick Airport and adjacent Enterprise Area, focusing on the aerospace sector<\/p>\n<p>For the first time Scottish planning policy will include references to maps of Scotland\u2019s wild land \u2013 drawn up by Scottish Natural Heritage. In addition, ministers propose extending the separation distance between wind farms and cities, towns and villages and requiring that wind farms will not be allowed in areas covered by National Parks and so-called National Scenic Areas.
