{"id":5696,"date":"2013-04-19T17:52:55","date_gmt":"2013-04-19T17:52:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=5696"},"modified":"2013-04-19T17:52:55","modified_gmt":"2013-04-19T17:52:55","slug":"ihbcs-2013-school-on-skills-national-bursaries-concluded","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=5696","title":{"rendered":"IHBC\u2019s 2013 School on Skills: National bursaries concluded"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The IHBC, the UK\u2019s professional body for built and historic environment conservation specialists, has finally closed its 2013 charitable allocation of up to \u00a34000 to help members attend the IHBC\u2019s Annual School on skills in June in Carlisle, though members should note that some IHBC Branches are still offering bursaries.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Bob Kindred, IHBC Committee Vice Chair, and responsible for the institute&#8217;s national bursaries, said: \u2019The Annual School, coming as it does with the Institute&#8217;s AGM, is its most high profile and prestigious yearly event for the sector, and helps showcase the excellence and multi-disciplinary nature of the IHBC\u2019s operations. It also provides a vital opportunity for continuing professional development; the sharing of common experiences and concerns, and networking with fellow practitioners. As such, the School is the obvious focus for the IHBC as a charity, not least as it offers a unique opportunity for the IHBC, as a charity, to help members promote our conservation in the proper care of places.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The IHBC Bursary Scheme for the School, now in its third year, enables participation by those who might otherwise not be able to do so, and demonstrates the Institute&#8217;s commitment to assisting the professional development of its members in times of economic hardship.
