{"id":5511,"date":"2013-03-08T16:37:34","date_gmt":"2013-03-08T16:37:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=5511"},"modified":"2013-03-08T16:37:34","modified_gmt":"2013-03-08T16:37:34","slug":"home-builders-federation-adds-more-planners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=5511","title":{"rendered":"Home Builders Federation adds more planners"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Home Builders Federation (HBF) has added two new planners to its planning team in a bid to make sure that the industry is represented at future local plan examinations.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The trade body claimed this move \u2013 funded by its larger members \u2013 was necessary to ensure local authorities were \u2018abiding by their responsibilities\u2019 under the National Planning Policy Framework to assess housing need and allocate sufficient land to meet that need.<\/p>\n<p>The HBF has complained that some local authorities were not conducting an &#8216;objective assessment&#8217; of their housing needs while others were distorting their work by subjective considerations and policy assumptions such as citing the effect of the recession or environmental\/heritage constraints.<\/p>\n<p>The body also insisted that some local authorities were relying on unviable and non-deliverable development in regeneration areas to bulk out their five-year land supplies.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Search Planning Portal<\/span>: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.planningportal.gov.uk\/general\/news\/stories\/2013\/mar13\/070313\/06032013_6\" target=\"_blank\">LINK<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Home Builders Federation (HBF) has added two new planners to its planning team in a bid to make sure that the industry is represented at future local plan examinations.
