The IHBC has launched a new mobile app to complement its innovative conservation \u2018Webstarter\u2019 online resource, providing support for conservation learners and users of all ages as well as asking for feedback over the Christmas break.<\/span><\/p>\n

IHBC\u2019s IT adviser Peter Badcock said:\u00a0 \u2018With the new app you can view the web page on\u00a0 your mobile or tablet \u2013 just follow the simple instructions \u2013 and you even get to title the app yourself.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018But do note that the app won\u2019t work on some older mobile technology \u2013 that\u2019s changing so speedily that even the biggest players don\u2019t update their technology fast enough.\u00a0 So if you\u2019re on an older mobile system, the app may not work for you.\u00a0 Instead just go straight to our Webstarter page, linked from our Home Page, which is already pretty mobile-friendly.\u2019<\/p>\n

IHBC Communications Secretary Charles Strang said: \u2018I’m delighted we\u2019ve been able to get this out before Christmas, as people will be able to use our Webstarter in a more relaxed home environment, and take time to explore the great things on offer on our website.\u00a0 Whether or not you\u2019re familiar with our online resources, at 25,000 pages and growing, everyone needs this sort of support to keep up with what\u2019s happening in the IHBC and our conservation world!’<\/p>\n

IHBC Director Sean O\u2019Reilly said: \u2018The Webstarter page is a critical new service for people looking to use our web services, in particular students, trainees and researchers.\u00a0 Indeed awareness of the quality of the IHBC brand is rapidly expanding, and that puts even more pressure on our capacity to help, so the Webstarter should make a real difference for everyone.\u00a0IHBC’s\u00a0advocacy and research across the UK, and the increasing global awareness of our work through the diaspora of our membership and our social media networks such as our popular Linkedin group, means that more than ever people are new to our web resources, and rely on us for quick answers and guidance.\u2019<\/p>\n

\u2018The Webstarter should be the perfect introduction to our web support for conservation. \u00a0As these innovations are forever \u2018work in progress\u2019, we\u2019re very keen to hear from users what they think about it, and what improvements it might need, so there’s a feedback opportunity at the end of the page.\u2019<\/p>\n
