{"id":4997,"date":"2012-11-09T16:35:23","date_gmt":"2012-11-09T16:35:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=4997"},"modified":"2012-11-09T16:35:23","modified_gmt":"2012-11-09T16:35:23","slug":"governments-new-construction-adviser-sets-out-priorities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=4997","title":{"rendered":"Government&#8217;s new construction adviser sets out priorities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Peter Hansford, a director of Nichols and immediate past president of the Institution of Civil Engineers, and the Government\u2019s new chief construction adviser, says he will be focused on cost and carbon reduction and improving skills and innovation in the industry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Mr Hansford takes over on 1 December from Paul Morrell, who is standing down after two years in post.<\/p>\n<p>His job description is \u2018to work with government and industry to ensure Britain&#8217;s construction sector is equipped with the knowledge, skills and best practice it needs in its transition to a low carbon economy\u2019.
