{"id":4897,"date":"2012-10-19T15:34:03","date_gmt":"2012-10-19T15:34:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=4897"},"modified":"2012-10-19T15:34:03","modified_gmt":"2012-10-19T15:34:03","slug":"private-sector-investment-rising-despite-economic-climate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=4897","title":{"rendered":"Private sector investment rising despite economic climate"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">The Arts &amp; Business Report for 2010\/11, published in full last week, shows a rise of 4% over the last year in private sector investment in arts and culture organisations to a total of \u00a3686.6million &#8211; almost reaching the peak of \u00a3171.5million in 2007.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Individual giving has grown in turn to \u00a3382million and has risen a startling 162% over the past decade. Investment from manufacturing, finance and the creative industries has risen dramatically since last year&#8217;s slump &#8211; the creative industries in particular giving \u00a324 million up from \u00a315million in 2009\/10.<\/p>\n<p>But while philanthropic giving from the private sector has gone up other means of support have dropped &#8211; such as in-kind services, down 38% since the survey began.
