{"id":4853,"date":"2012-10-05T16:56:04","date_gmt":"2012-10-05T16:56:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ihbconline.co.uk\/newsachive\/?p=4853"},"modified":"2012-10-05T16:56:04","modified_gmt":"2012-10-05T16:56:04","slug":"gus-astley-student-award-2012-judge-announced","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/newsblogs.ihbc.org.uk\/?p=4853","title":{"rendered":"Gus Astley Student Award 2012: Judge announced"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Terry Levinthal, Director of Conservation Services and Projects at the National Trust for Scotland has been announced as the judge for the 2012 IHBC Annual Gus Astley Student Award.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Terry Levinthal said: \u2018I am, on behalf of the National Trust for Scotland, delighted to support the IHBC in assessing this year\u2019s Gus Astley Awards.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>\u2018The commitment and knowledge captured within the submissions is essential to the future health and vitality of the historic environment conservation sector. It is not necessarily a great leap between coursework and professional output. For so many us, our lifelong interest and engagement in our heritage took firm root in such coursework. I look forward to this daunting task of assessing this year\u2019s IHBC Gus Astley Student Award\u2019.<\/p>\n<p>Contestants for the IHBC\u2019s 2012 Student award range from undergraduates learning about historic places to career architects honing skills in understanding how places work. The winner of the 2012 award will be announced early in 2013 and, with any other commended students, will be offered a residential place at the IHBC\u2019s 2013 Annual School.
