After one year of extensive consultation, Scotland\u2019s Landscape Alliance has published its 5-Year Action Plan to help deliver Scotland\u2019s Landscape Charter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
Scotland\u2019s Landscape Alliance writes:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2026 The Charter highlights the vital contribution of Scotland\u2019s landscapes to our lives in terms of climate resilience, nature and biodiversity, our health and wellbeing as well as our economy. It was launched in June 2025 and endorsed by the Scottish Government. This coincided with the 25th anniversary of the European Landscape Convention (ELC), the first international treaty dedicated to the protection, management and planning of all landscapes in Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
How we will deliver the plan<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n Our intent is to deliver this five-year Action Plan between 2026 to 2031 and our priorities for the first year ( 2026-2027) which can be read here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The SLA Executive Committee will lead some actions but would encourage others to lead actions or participate to enable us to achieve more to safeguard Scotland\u2019s landscapes. If there is a topic area you are particularly interested in, please get in touch via info@scotlandslandscapealliance.org<\/p>\n\n\n\n The SLA annual event on the 28th October 2026 at the Edinburgh Climate change Institute will be a key point in the year both to report on progress and to explore next steps and emerging work areas. This Charter Action Plan has been prepared by the SLA landscape community offering their broad range of expertise and skills to support embedding the Charter into everyday action.
