In 2025 we made access to the register free to all as part of our 50th anniversary celebrations. The register is not a list of buildings that are for sale, though where we are aware that a building is on the market, we indicate that. NB: Information contained in the register is compiled using publicly available information from sources we consider to be reliable and is supplemented through contact with local residents, heritage professionals and officers at the local authority. None of the information is independently verified by SAVE and any details should be checked before placing reliance on them.

How to help a Building at Risk

You’ll find loads of advice in our interactive Act Now! Tool Kit on how to help buildings at risk, whether or not they are on our register. Where we identify cases in which SAVE can actively intervene, we may write in support of listing applications, to oppose demolition plans or to contact conservation officers or others to raise our concerns or suggest solutions.

Updates and corrections

We welcome corrections and updates at any time which can be submitted to us using the update button on each entry. Entries are updated by us annually or at other times if we receive new information. Each entry therefore becomes a record of the building’s struggle to survive until it is either restored or lost.

We welcome new nominations at any time. To nominate a building please click the nominate button on the Buildings at Risk home page and complete the form. If you have any questions about the register or our work on buildings at risk, please contact our Buildings at Risk officer on amy.popham@savebritainsheritage.org.

Browse our curated collections of buildings at risk.
