The\u2026 Conference Centre is a stone\u2019s throw away and\u2026 surrounded by\u2026 the city\u2019s business district right down to the West End. So why is it so desolate?..<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Historically, the canal\u2019s role in Edinburgh has constantly shifted\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u2026 says Hay\u2026 \u2018The main problem is dead frontage.
