New guidance has been published by the General Trustees of the Church of Scotland on their process for handling off market sale requests from community groups for Church buildings<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The guidance is aimed at communities that are exploring the possibility of purchasing a church or hall building. In an Off-Market Transfer (OMT) the General Trustees of the Church of Scotland (GTs) deal exclusively with a single preferred bidder, rather than advertising the building on the open market and inviting offers. The Off-Market Transfer Guidance may be of interest to community councils, development trusts and other community groups, many of whom may be dealing with challenges relating to church building disposals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
