Gordon Masterton now becomes Deputy Chairman for a year, in accordance with CIC’s rules & byelaws.

Jack will be the first Past President of the Royal Institute of British Architects to become Chairman of CIC, although he is the third architect, following Robin Nicholson CBE (1998-2000) and Keith Clarke CBE (2008-2010). Jack is the Managing Director of Pringle Brandon Perkins+Will and has been a deputy-chairman of CIC for the past two years. Before that, he was a Vice-Chairman of CIC for a year.

Jack Pringle studied at Bristol University before qualifying as an architect. He worked for Sir Phillip Powell at, Powell and Moya, for eight years, on social housing and other public sector projects. In the early ‘80s Jack started his own practice, which became Pringle Brandon and recently Pringle Brandon Perkins+Will. Jack’s practice initially focussed on workplaces for major international clients and then diversified into new-build commercial, residential and industrial buildings, working throughout Europe and the Middle East.

Taking up his new role, Jack said: ‘Under Gordon Masterson’s chairmanship CIC has secured significant achievements at a difficult time. It has championed safety in the industry, it has supported the establishment of the Government Construction Advisor’s role and his agenda for a low carbon more efficient industry, and it is leading the development of BIM. He will be a hard act to follow. This is a pivotal time to be taking the chair. Over the next few years we need to turn construction from being a high cost, fragmented, low-tech sector to being a joined-up, hi-tech, efficient industry. What that looks like, we don’t yet know. It’s our job to find out and make it happen.’

CIC Chief Executive, Graham Watts, welcomed the new appointment by saying: ‘We are so pleased to have Jack’s significant experience engaged in piloting CIC through these next two years, which are bound to be interesting times as the industry adjusts to new technologies and processes in a difficult economic climate. Change is always easier to achieve in the face of adversity and not in times of continued growth and regular profit margins, where there is no incentive to alter the way we do things’.

Construction Industry Council News: LINK

The Construction Industry Council has appointed Jack Pringle as its new Chairman, and also appointed Stan Hornagold, Director of Marstan Group, as a new Vice-Chairman, joining Ann Heywood, the Principal of the College of Estate Management, and Ann Skippers, a … Continue reading →

[5

post-4433","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-sector-newsblog
["GET
