IHBC members are receiving their invitation from our President, Rebecca Thompson<\/a>, to join the next IHBC Council, from 4.30pm on 8 October, with a revised programme to reflect our Charter progress, with linked CPD on \u2018Heritage Skills and the Conservation Professional<\/em>\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Our President\u2019s invitation to IHBC\u2019s members-only <\/strong>Council<\/strong><\/a>
Wednesday 8 October 2025, online from 4.30pm<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

NEW CPD Feature: Heritage Skills and the Conservation Professional<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

IHBC President Rebecca Thompson<\/a> writes<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You are invited to join our virtual IHBC Council, at 4.30pm on Wednesday 8 October, for more exclusive and unique Council CPD alongside the familiar member updates and queries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The updated CPD feature for this Council will explore aspects of our member engagement with Heritage Skills as Conservation Professionals.  This is especially relevant given the recent permission from the Privy Council Office (PCO) to apply for a Charter, as reported on our NewsBlogs HERE<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That decision endorsed our case that the IHBC is the representative body for a unique discipline, recognised in government statistics but not otherwise, that of the interdisciplinary Conservation Professional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following the PCO\u2019s determination, Council will also report on our plans for the next steps in our exploration of the Charter.  This includes new consultations and arrangements to make sure our members can make the most informed decision possible on our future as regards a Charter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As ever, there will also be a chance to raise your own suggestions, queries & quandaries about IHBC and related Council matters and activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Remember too that all IHBC members, in any category, are welcome to Council.  This is our inclusive advisory and training body where members can formally join in shaping our activities and plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So we hope you will join us for what will be fascinating CPD together with updates and debate on current sector and IHBC issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
